Context

Numerical computing and data analysis have become essential in astrophysics and astronomy, fields that generate massive volumes of data from both observations and simulations. Processing this information requires extensive computational resources, often massively parallel, as well as algorithms capable of modeling multi-scale physical processes. The rapid evolution of hardware architectures, particularly the rise of GPUs, demands a complete overhaul of methods developed a few a decades ago. At the same time, the growing complexity and diversity of data have led to the emergence of advanced analysis tools, increasingly integrating artificial intelligence. Moreover, the dispersion of data across various levels of complexity and infrastructures raises challenges of interoperability and code deployment, underscoring the importance of collective initiatives to foster exchanges, break down disciplinary barriers, and identify methodological convergences between observations and simulations.
